National Volunteer Week (NVW) is the largest celebration of volunteers and volunteerism in Australia, and provides an opportunity to highlight the role of volunteers in our communities and to say thank you to the more than 6 million Australians who volunteer.
The Brisbane Writers Festival was founded with the help of volunteers in 1962 for what was then known as 'The Warana Writers Weekend.' Since then, and with the support of over 2,000 volunteers, Brisbane Writers Festival has grown to become the largest and leading writer's festival in Queensland.
Brisbane Writers Festival would like to take this opportunity to say "Thanks A Million" to our many wonderful volunteers who donate their time to ensure the success of our event. To celebrate National Volunteer Week (NVW), we are inviting our volunteers to join us for our upcoming evening with one of the world's leading fantasy writers, Raymond E. Feist, at Brisbane Square Library.
We have reserved 10 seats for the first 10 of our volunteers who email us at volunteers@bwf.org.au
Feist's debut fantasy novel, Magician, captured the imagination of a generation. Since then, legions of fans have been hooked on his Riftwar Cycle series, making Feist a bestseller time after time.
Following the May release of Magician's End, the last book in his bestselling series, Raymond E. Feist is coming to Brisbane to talk about his latest book and career as a fantasy author.
Event Details: 5.30pm, Monday 24 June at Brisbane Square Library
