Brisbane Writers Festival has been celebrating reading, writing and ideas with the people of Queensland for fifty years. Renowned for its energy and casual intellect, BWF brings together readers, writers, innovators, and provocateurs within the cultural precinct on the Brisbane River in the heart of the city.

Jodi Picoult is the author of 18 bestselling and widely-acclaimed novels, the latest being Lone Wolf.  Together with her daughter, Samantha van Leer, a high school student, Jodi has now written Between the Lines, a wonderfully imaginative, classic fairytale with a modern twist.

Having conceived the idea for Between the Lines, Samantha pitched it to her mum. They wrote every line together and will discuss this process as well sharing insights into this exciting new book, perfectly suited to teens.

Join American Pulitzer Prize-winning novelist and short-story writer Jeffrey Eugenides for an intimate conversation about The Marriage Plot, his brilliant third novel and his first in eight years, in a Brisbane Writers Festival Bookend event.

Jeffrey's first novel, The Virgin Suicides, was published in 1993 to great acclaim and he has received numerous awards for his work. In 2003, Jeffrey received the Pulitzer Prize for his novel Middlesex, which was also a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award, the IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and France's Prix Medicis and has sold more than three million copies.
